ST. LOUIS - After hitting 58 F for a high Wednesday, strong northwest winds are sending temperatures plummeting Thursday morning.
Out the door temperatures will be falling into the teens and the gusty winds are making it feel like it’s in the single digits in spots. Let’s watch for slippery spots where we have some refreeze of snow that melted on Wednesday.
Winds will ease Thursday morning, but it will be a cold day throughout. Temperatures are only expected to bounce back into the mid to upper 20s for highs.
Thursday night will be mostly clear and still cold, with wake-up temperatures expected to be in the teens on Friday. But a southerly flow returns Friday and that means a warmup. We’ll see mid to upper 30s for highs Friday.
Top temps in the 50s for the weekend. Our next rain chance moves in late Sunday night into Monday. Right now, rain looks light and mainly south and southeast of metro St. Louis. We’ll keep tracking it.
