At least one person was hospitalized Wednesday after a vehicle collided with an LA Metro train in South Los Angeles.
The collision happened in the Florence-Graham neighborhood near the intersection of Nadeau Street and Graham Avenue on the Metro A Line—that segment of railway is not separated from street traffic.
Video from Sky5 showed a black Nissan sedan with heavy front end damage sitting disabled on one set of tracks and the Metro train stopped nearby on another.
Crews could be seen evaluating the damage to the train and around 12:30 p.m., Metro staff were helping to evacuate riders.
Details about the collision itself are limited, but the Los Angeles County Fire Department said one person was transported to a local hospital. That person's condition was not immediately released.
The intersection was closed and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies were on the scene to investigate.
Metro train service was suspended between the Slauson and Firestone stations and buses were being used as an alternative, but Metro announced around 1 p.m. that trains would instead share the Long Beach-bound track and rail service would be resumed.
