The University of San Diego has been named by the Princeton Review to its 2025 Mental Health Services Honor Roll, which highlights schools committed to the mental health and well-being of their students.
USD is one of 16 undergraduate institutions across the country to be named to the honor roll earlier this week.
The Princeton Review selection criteria looked at survey data focused on three areas:
- The quality of campus life, ensuring it promotes students’ health and overall well-being
- The effectiveness of school programs in empowering students to manage their mental health through education and peer support
- The overall administrative support for mental health and well-being, including policies on staffing and student resources
USD was recognized for its emphasis on “the importance of developing the whole person by incorporating mental health and wellness initiatives into campus life.”
The education services company highlighted programs such as “Be Well USD” online resources for students and Center for Health and Wellness Promotion, which includes annual mandatory training on topics like inclusion, alcohol use and sexual assault prevention.
“This recognition is yet another clear affirmation of the university’s commitment to the holistic wellness of our student community,” said Christopher Burden, assistant vice president for student wellness. “USD is home to dedicated wellness professionals who exemplify the university’s commitment to compassionate care, expertise and student support.”
