University of Texas parking kiosk damaged in crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Crews at the University of Texas Austin are rebuilding after a car crashed into a parking lot kiosk window over the weekend.
KXAN learned Monday that crash took out the Texas sign, which crushed the booth's foundation. Crews boarded up the kiosk along 24th Street this morning.
KXAN spoke to students on Monday who said they were happy to see Michael Shaw -- a longtime parking attendant and somewhat of a campus legend -- still in action.
"I'm very glad Mike's still out here. It means a lot. He says hi to everyone walking by, so hopefully they get it fixed up for him. They need to. Everyone wants Mike around," UT student Cinco Grobmyer told KXAN.
KXAN reached out to UT for details on what caused the crash. We will update this if a statement is received.
