Donald Trump is bringing out the star power for his inauguration performances.
The Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee announced the lineup for the 60th Presidential Inauguration Weekend earlier this week, which, according to the committee, features “some of our nation’s most iconic musicians.”
Indeed, the performers have won dozens of Grammy Awards and have a plethora of platinum records between them.
At Monday’s swearing-in ceremony, eight-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood will sing “America the Beautiful,” and the national anthem will be sung by opera tenor Christopher Macchio.
The Make America Great Again Victory Rally will feature performances by ardent Trump supporter Kid Rock as well as The Village People, who took to social media to state that their performance is not an endorsement of the President-elect “no matter what [anyone says] to the contrary” and that the band supports the fact that America has a new president who should receive well wishes “until he gives us a reason not to.”
Also performing at the victory rally are Billy Ray Cyrus and Lee Greenwood (known for the song “God Bless the U.S.A.”) as is the Liberty University Praise Choir.
That’s not all; at the Liberty Ball, one of three official balls taking place on Monday, Academy of Country Music Awards Artist of the Decade Jason Aldean will perform. The Village People will also make an appearance here as well, as will a surprise guest – later revealed to be the rapper Nelly.
At the Commander-in-Chief Ball, Rascal Flatts and Parker McCollum will take the stage, and to wrap things up at the Starlight Ball, Gavin DeGraw will perform.
The festivities began on Friday at the first-ever Crypto Ball in Washington, D.C., which was hosted by former PayPal COO and incoming White House AI and Crypto Czar David Sacks and featured performances by Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg, the latter of whom faced some backlash for appearing at the ceremony despite calling Trump a “punk motherf—ker" in the past.
