Troy man arraigned on marijuana trafficking, gun charges
A Troy man was arraigned before a United States Magistrate Judge in Albany on marijuana trafficking and drug charges.
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Troy man was arraigned before a United States Magistrate Judge in Albany on marijuana trafficking and drug charges. Officials said Omjasia Kentu Fedler, 53, allegedly possessed a gun and marijuana intended for distribution as a convicted felon.
The indictment accuses Fedler of having a 9mm handgun to further his alleged drug activity and possessing marijuana intended for distribution in November 2022. Fedler's indictment also alleges he sold marijuana between 2021 and 2022.
If convicted, Fedler faces a possible sentence of at least five years to life in prison for having a gun to further his alleged drug activity, up to 15 years in prison for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, and up to five years in prison for each marijuana trafficking charge. Additionally, if Fedler is convicted, he would face a fine of up to $250,000 per charge and probation for two years to life.
