The San Diego Toreros beat the Dayton Flyers 16-10 Saturday, earning their first road win on the season and moving to 6-3 overall.

San Diego took an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter with a field goal followed by a five-yard Logan Gingg touchdown run, the only time the Toreros reached the end zone. The senior running back rushed for 175 yards on 28 carries.

The Toreros forced four Dayton turnovers, including three fumbles and an interception, which helped San Diego build a 16-3 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The Flyers scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to make it 16-10, but the Toreros were able to close out their second straight victory.

San Diego is in a four-way tie for second place in the FCS Pioneer League. Butler, Morehead State, St. Thomas and San Diego all have a 4-2 conference record.

Following their trip to Ohio, the Toreros return home to face Stetson before completing their regular season on the road at Morehead State. With only two games left for each team in the Pioneer League, there could be some major shuffling in the standings by the end of November.
