Three-car crash leaves one dead in Bennington County
A Manchester, Vt. woman was fatally injured in a three-car crash Monday night. Kathryn Brown, 68, was pronounced dead at the scene.
SHAFTSBURY, Vt. (NEWS10)-- A Manchester, Vt. woman was fatally injured in a three-car crash Monday night. Kathryn Brown, 68, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Around 5:06 p.m., Vermont state police responded to a three-car crash on Route 7 in Sunderland, near mile marker 28.4. A preliminary investigation determined Brown was traveling northbound in a 2017 Chevy Traverse when she crossed the center line and hit a Dodge Sprinter traveling southbound.
During the crash, the Sprinter rolled onto its side, resulting in a third car, crashing into it. Brown's car, the Traverse, went down a small embankment before coming to a complete stop.
The other two drivers suffered minor injuries. One was transported to the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for treatment.
The Manchester Police Department, Arlington Rescue Squad and three district fire departments responded to the scene. Paul's Towing and Monarch Towing also assisted state police at the scene.
