Plus it has a towing capacity of 4,530 lbs, which is by far more than enough to tow a travel trailer.
To showcase this all new E 450, Mercedes Benz sent me an All Terrain Station Wagon to test drive and review. The base window sticker price for this 2024 Estate 4Matic model is $74,700. The options on the wagon are: the Tonka brown and black leather trim for $1,620, the energizing air control system for $150, the advanced USB power package for $300, the MBUX super screen package for $1,500, the driver assistance package for $1,950, the digital light package for $990, the winter package for $450 and the leather package for $800. The manufactures suggested retail price (MSRP) , including the $1,150 destination charge is: $83,610.
After adding in the state and local sales tax, plus the DMV and dealer fees, the out the door and in your garage total purchase price came to: $94,061. At just over $94 Grand, this wagon ain’t cheap but it is a midsize luxury Estate station wagon from Mercedes Benz. This All Terrain model adds all wheel drive and traction control and a useful raised ride height on the E-Class Estate. So you can easily drive up to your castle on the coast.
Power comes from a 3.0 Liter inline turbo 6 cylinder gas engine, a 48 volt mild hybrid system with 375 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, bolted to a 9G-TRONIC 9 speed automatic transmission, routed into a 4Matic AWD traction control system with AirMatic 4 corner air suspension. This driveline insures that you have ample power, positive control and constant traction every time you drive the car.
This 2024 E 450 Estate wagon comes with all the comfort and convenience items you would expect in a $94,000 Mercedes Benz. The equipment list starts with: Mercedes connected services, SiriusXM satellite radio with the Premium Plan, the MB premium navigation plan with free map updates, power front seats with lumbar support and memory, a panoramic power sliding sunroof, and a fantastic Burmester Premium surround sound system with 15 speakers and over 700 watts of power. The audio system utilizes Dolby Atmos technology to deliver a full and rich 4D surround sound experience.
Safety and security are hallmarks for Mercedes Benz too and they start with: an anti-theft alarm system, adaptive high beam assist, active brake assist, active parking assist, blind spot assist, a surround view camera and LED headlamps. Plus, all Mercedes vehicles come with a 24 hour roadside assistance program and a new vehicle 4 year and 50,000 mile warranty. In addition, the E 450 gets 22 MPG city, 31 MPG highway and a very respectable 25 MPG in combined driving. The greenhouse gas rating is a 5, and the smog rating is a 7; both out of 10. These are all good numbers for a very nice MBZ Estate station wagon.
