(KRON) -- Ten adults were arrested in connection to organized retail crime and petty theft that happened at the Stonestown mall last week, the San Francisco Police Department announced Tuesday in a news release. Between Oct. 8 and Oct. 13, multiple unnamed businesses at the shopping center were victims of these crimes, police said.
Seven of those suspects were cited and released at the scene, police said. Three of them were booked into San Francisco County Jail for outstanding warrants in addition to the theft charges.
Although SFPD did not name the store, a photo posted by the department (below) shows several items recovered from the Target at Winston Drive. The stolen property was returned to the stores.
Stores at Stonestown were chosen for investigation "due to the high number of shoplifting incidents the businesses were experiencing," SFPD said in the release. Retail crime is being addressed via a $15.3 million grant from the state, according to SFPD.
"Our officers have made dozens of ORC arrests in recent months and will continue to
conduct these operations throughout San Francisco to reduce thefts at local businesses," SFPD said.
