Teenager killed in shooting at Denver park, police searching for suspects
Denver investigators are searching for suspects after 17-year-old Edwin Sanchez was shot and killed at Lisbon Park on Sunday, police said.
Denver police are searching for suspects after a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed Sunday in Lisbon Park.
Around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Edwin Sanchez and a friend were hanging out at the park in Denver’s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood when an unknown person approached and shot the teenager, according to the Denver Police Department. Sanchez later died from his injuries, and no suspects have been identified. Police didn’t say if his friend was injured.
The park, at 4000 Kirk Street, is near the Denver-Aurora boundary, a softball field, tennis courts and Green Valley Elementary School.
