Teen, man shot in Oakland
No arrests have been made in the separate shootings of a 17-year-old boy and a man in Oakland Thursday night.
OAKLAND — A 17-year-old boy and a 36-year-old man were shot just over an hour apart Thursday night in different areas of the city, authorities said.
Both victims were in stable condition.
The shootings are not believed to be related, authorities said.
The boy was shot around 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of MacArthur Boulevard, in the Dimond district.
According to initial reports, the youth told police he was walking when he heard gunshots and realized he had been wounded. He got his own transportation to a hospital.
A motive for the shooting has not been determined yet. No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.
The man was shot around 8:49 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of Isabella Street, in West Oakland.
According to initial reports, the man was standing outside when someone began shooting at him, wounding him multiple times.
Police have not been able to get a statement yet from the man to determine a motive for the shooting or who shot him.
