DENVER (KDVR) — Deputies need help identifying the suspects involved in a drive-by shooting near Highlands Ranch.
On Jan. 3 at 3:28 a.m., the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said a 2018 to current blue Chevrolet Equinox was seen passing by a house multiple times on Deneb Drive in an area known as Acres Green.
The car then came to a stop in front of a home, and deputies said the suspects blacked out the car lights and fired two shots into a window. The Chevrolet was then seen fleeing the area heading northbound.
The sheriff's office said no one was injured in the shooting, but they are investigating the motive behind the drive-by.
The residents of the home told deputies they didn't have issues they were aware of with anyone and were unsure why they would have been targeted.
Deputies are now asking the community for help in identifying the suspects. The department released a photo of the suspected vehicle.
Anyone with information or who recognizes the Chevrolet is asked to contact Detective Romero at reromero@dcsheriff.net immediately. Tipsters can also remain anonymous and call the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
