A 31-year-old man suspected of robbing a bank in Imperial Beach remained in custody Saturday.

Deputies from the Imperial Beach Sheriff’s Substation responded to the 1100 block of Palm Avenue around 9 a.m. Friday regarding a robbery in progress, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.

Rashad McNeely is suspected of entering the bank and demanding money before running away with an unknown amount of cash.

Deputies arrested him less than an hour after the incident and booked him into the San Diego Central Jail, where he is not eligible for bail, according to online jail records. He is also suspected of violating his parole.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery was urged to call the Imperial Beach Sheriff’s Substation at 619-498-2400.
