Suspect detained after man found shot dead inside a car in Boyle Heights

Police have detained a suspect connected to the shooting death of a man in a car in Boyle Heights.
The shooting occurred around midnight in a residential area in the 500 block of South Grande Vista Avenue near Lanfranco Street, according to Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Ryan Rabbett.
Arriving officers located a victim seated inside a Kia Soul with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
KTLA video from the scene shows investigators canvassing the area for evidence. A white tent was put up around the vehicle.
A suspect was located and detained, Lt. Rabbett said, and officers are still interviewing residents and gathering surveillance footage.
It is not known if this shooting was gang-related.
No further details, including the identities of the detainee and victim, were released.
