A suspect was arrested nearly a month after the killing of a man in San Jacinto, authorities confirmed on Saturday.
A man was found suffering from traumatic injuries at a park on the 500 block of East Main Street on Sept. 22 at about 9:51 p.m. The man, 40-year-old David Montero of San Jacinto, was hospitalized for three days until he later died on Sept. 25, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.
No suspect was immediately identified.
Investigators eventually identified Angel Guzman-Banuelos, 19, as a suspect. He was arrested in San Diego County on Thursday, Oct. 17, without incident, the Sheriff's Office said.
Guzman-Banuelos was booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of murder, authorities said.
No additional details were immediately made available.
