St. Louis region partner to recycle campaign yard signs
Missouri Botanical Garden is partnering with cities and recycling advocates to set up collection sites for yard signs through Nov. 15, keeping over 2,500 pounds of plastic and 1,200 metal stakes out of landfills.
ST. LOUIS - Looking for something to do with campaign yard signs now that the election is over? You can recycle them. The Missouri Botanical Garden is working with cities and recycling advocates across the St. Louis region to set up collection sites for yard signs.
There will be 15 sites open across the St. Louis region through Nov. 15. Some sites have designated drop-off dates and times, while others may allow you to pull up and drop off signs at any time.
In 2020, the recycling effort kept more than 2,500 pounds of plastic and 1,200 metal stakes out of landfills.
Recyclers are asked to separate the plastic sign and metal stands from each other. In the campaign, only corrugated plastic will be taken. No cardboard, plastic wrap, or laminated cardboard signs will be accepted.
