ST. LOUIS -- Today will be cold with cloudy skies through at least the first part of the day and some clearing expected midday into the afternoon. Temperatures will only rebound into the low to mid-30s this afternoon.
A fast-moving, rather weak, clipper system will drop south through the region late tonight into Monday morning, bringing another round of light snow and flurries. Some minor accumulations of dusting to about 1 inch are possible.
Unfortunately, despite the light nature of the snow, the timing of the snow during the morning rush hour and the very cold temperatures will allow untreated surfaces to quickly become snow-covered and slick. This will be what we refer to as a “light precipitation-high impact” event because of the timing. The potential disruptions to the Monday morning drive could be significant.
