According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the shots were fired in the area of 1100 7th Avenue, which is near a Denny's restaurant adjacent to the 60 Freeway.
The shots were reported at 6:48 a.m.
A Sigalert was issued for the closure on Friday morning, warning commuters that the delays could last up to one hour. The lanes were closed between Crossroads Parkway and 7th Avenue.
