(BCN) -- The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety is investigating an attempted vehicle burglary that resulted in shots fired on Barbi Lane early Friday morning.
According to a press release issued Friday, two suspects attempted to burglarize a vehicle. When an area resident interrupted, one of the suspects fired a gun as they were fleeing the scene.
Police personnel reportedly located evidence of a firearm being discharged in the vicinity of the vandalized car.
No one was injured, but a house on Beverly Drive was struck by a stray bullet. Police officers believe the stray bullet was from the Barbi Lane incident, authorities said.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Detective Felicity Hartnett at (707) 588-3516.
