ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Metropolitan police officers responded to a shooting outside of a bar in the 1000 block of Sidney Street in the Soulard neighborhood on Friday evening around 10 p.m.
Officers say a 50-year-old man was shot in the leg. They applied a tourniquet before EMS arrived and then EMS took the man to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the 50-year-old man got into an altercation with another man inside of the bar. The men then went outside and the altercation became physical. The other man pulled out a gun and shot the 50-year-old man.
The investigation is ongoing.
