SF bakery known for croissants opens third location next week

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- One of the most renowned San Francisco bakeries is opening its third location in the city. Arsicault, known for its signature croissants, is opening in Mission Rock next week.

The Arsicault at 1070 Bridgeview Way in the Mission Rock neighborhood is opening on Monday, March 7, the bakery announced on its Instagram. The bakery -- located on the southwest corner of the Verde building near Oracle Park -- will initially only be open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Arsicault's first weekend of business will be on April 5 and 6, which is the San Francisco Giants' 2025 home series opener against the Mariners. Giants CEO Larry Baer took an Instagram photo on the day Arsicault staff underwent training ahead of its grand opening.

Dozens of future customers expressed their excitement on Arsicault's Instagram post.

The grand opening finally comes after multiple delays. In 2023, Arsicault said in a social media post that it would open its Mission Rock bakery in early 2024 then got pushed back to fall of that year.

The Mission Rock location would be Arsicault's third (all in San Francisco). The other two are at 87 McAllister St. in Civic Center and 397 Arguello Blvd. in the Richmond neighborhood (the original location).

Arsicault opened in 2015 and was named the best new bakery in the U.S. by Bon Appétit Magazine. The bakery has built a fanbase as it has nearly 40,000 followers on Instagram.

The Arguello location is known to frequently have long lines, especially on weekend mornings. If you drive in the neighborhood often enough, chances are you'll see people waiting in front of a green awning to get their hands on those croissants.
