(KRON) -- The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Vallejo Division arrested a suspect connected to a shooting on Interstate 80 in September and seized "numerous" guns during a search executed at his home.
On Sept. 11 at 6 p.m., officers from the CHP's Solano location were called to a report of a shooting on I-80, east of Tennessee Street. Witnesses of the shooting told CHP they saw "an individual firing a gun into the air while driving on the freeway," said officials.
Detectives said a description of the suspect's car, license plate and data from Flock Safety community cameras helped track down and identify the suspect as Victor Hugo France, Jr., 43, of Vallejo. During a search of his home, officials recovered "several firearms, ammunition, and suspected narcotics for sales," said CHP.
Officials said France was arrested on Oct. 24 and booked into the Solano County Jail. He faces several charges, including "felony charge of negligently discharging a firearm, possession of a short barrel rifle, possession of an assault weapon, illegal transfer of a firearm, and possession of narcotics for sales," said CHP.
