San Diego-based energy company Sempra has been named one of Newsweek's "America's Most Responsible Companies" for 2025.
San Diego-based energy company Sempra has been named one of Newsweek’s “America’s Most Responsible Companies” for 2025.
Through its local subsidiary, San Diego Gas & Electric, the company provides gas and electricity to approximately 3.7 million residents in San Diego County and Southern Orange County.
The Newsweek award was based on publicly available key performance indicators derived from the company’s Corporate Sustainability Report and an independent survey that asked U.S. citizens about their perception of Sempra’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.
“Our business practices aim to address global energy challenges while meeting the needs of our customers and stakeholders,” said Lisa Larroque Alexander, Sempra’s senior vice president of corporate affairs.
TIME Magazine and Fortune Magazine have also recognized Sempra’s corporate social responsibility.
