Second Small Fire Reported in North Park Sunday Morning, One Block From First
The second fire began when someone apparently set a mattress on fire at about 6:52 a.m. on the sidewalk outside United Furniture on University Ave. near Illinois Street.
A small fire was reported on the sidewalk outside a University Ave. business in North Park Sunday morning, less than an hour after and about a block away from another suspected arson.

A passerby put out the fire with water. No injuries were reported.
According to reports, a pile of containers were also set ablaze at the North Park Beer Co. building at University Ave. and Ohio St. at about 5:59 Sunday morning.
That fire was put out by fire crews, also without incident.
However, the employee who called the fire in told firefighters that he had seen two men watching the fire.
San Diego Fire-Rescue has let law enforcement know that there is a suspected arsonist in the area.
