A couple of sea lions recently showed body surfers at Silver Strand Beach in Ventura County just how to catch a wave.
The fun-loving pinnipeds drew a crowd of seagulls and fellow sea lions who looked on as they body-surfed their way back to shore.
Channel Islands Harbor posted the video to its Instagram page on Nov. 15. "Just a few pros out at Silver Strand Beach in Oxnard this morning showing us how it’s done. ????," the post read.
The video drew lots of comments including one person who described the sea lions as “the real locals” and another who said, “Looks like we didn’t come up with surfing after all we just copied nature. Just like the wright brothers brah.”
