Schuylerville student wins award at National FFA convention
A Schuylerville student won an award during the third general convention session of the National FFA Organization. Taylor Barraclough won the National FFA's National Proficiency Award in Agricultural Communications for entrepreneurship.
SCHUYLERVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Schuylerville student won an award during the third general convention session of the National FFA Organization. Taylor Barraclough won the National FFA's National Proficiency Award in Agricultural Communications for entrepreneurship.
Barraclough's award focused on equine science. She created her own business, Violet Sales, to breed, raise, and sell horses.
The National Convention provides a platform for students to showcase their skills, knowledge, hard work, and talents in front of a national audience. Barraclough showcased how she learned how to care for horses and how to market the business, in front of FFA members from around the country.
The National FFA Organization is a school-based youth leadership organization that strives to make a positive difference in students' lives by developing their leadership skills, promoting personal growth and developing career success through agricultural education. Barraclough was one of 10 students to receive awards, out of 45 award categories.
