Saratoga Springs man sentenced for child sex abuse image crimes

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The U.S. Attorney's Office announced that Christopher Barry, 42, of Saratoga Springs, was sentenced on Wednesday to six years in prison for possessing child sex abuse images. Barry pleaded guilty in April.
As part of his guilty plea, Barry admitted to receiving and owning over 1,500 images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children between June 2021 and February 2023, which were stored on two cellphones. In addition to the prison time, he was ordered to serve a 15-year term of post-release probation, pay a total of $42,000 in restitution to 14 victims, and forfeit the two phones used in his crimes.
Barry will also be required to register as a sex offender following his release from prison. The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security.
