Saratoga Springs man accused of killing roommate with BB gun
A Saratoga Springs man has been arrested after allegedly shooting and killing his roommate with a pellet gun on Sunday, the Saratoga Springs Police Department reported.

SARATOGA SPRINGS (NEWS10) — A Saratoga Springs man has been arrested after allegedly shooting and killing his roommate with a pellet gun on Sunday, the Saratoga Springs Police Department reported. Brendan Carl, 26, faces multiple charges.
Early on Sunday, Saratoga Springs Police Department Emergency Dispatch received a report that a man had shot his roommate with a BB gun at their home on Warren Street. The caller also said that the victim, who has been identified as 27-year-old Michael Collins, was bleeding and having difficulty breathing, according to officials.
When Saratoga Springs police arrived to the scene, they reportedly found Collins unconscious and unresponsive. The 27-year-old was transported to Albany Medical Center for urgent treatment but he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving to the hospital, authorities said.
According to police, Carl was taken into custody following the incident. He has been charged with second-degree manslaughter (a felony) and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (a misdemeanor).
Carl was reportedly arraigned in the City Court of Saratoga Springs and remanded to the custody of the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office. His bail has been set at $25,000 cash, $50,000 partial bond or $300,000 bond.
