Saratoga Springs Deputy Commissioner of DPW suspended without pay
DPW Commissioner Hank Kuczynski accuses Deputy Commissioner Joe O'Neill of using city employees on city time using city resources to work on private property in a statement released on Thursday.
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Public Works in Saratoga Springs was suspended without pay for the next five consecutive work days. DPW Commissioner Hank Kuczynski accuses Deputy Commissioner Joe O'Neill of violating the City Code of Ethics in a statement released on Thursday.
There are two alleged occasions, one in the spring of 2023 and one in January of 2024, where O'Neill used city employees on city time using city resources to work on private property. Kuczynski said he recently accessed the investigative summary report from human resources from a complaint filed in March and began reviewing it before concluding that this happened.
Kuczynski said in his statement that the suspension is effective immediately and that he will "work to preserve accountability" because "this type of behavior will not be tolerated."
