(KRON) -- Santa Rosa police said officers responded to a call about a road rage situation involving a firearm at 4:52 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses said a man driving a silver BMW pointed a gun at another driver after an argument on the road near W. Third Street and Amador Drive.
Officers said they quickly spotted the BMW near Stony Point Road and Guerneville Road. The driver, identified as 23-year-old Kalvin Crump from Petaluma, was pulled over without incident. Santa Rosa PD said inside the car with him were his 1-month-old baby and the child's mom.
Police said 'K9 Ghost,' a police dog trained to sniff out firearms, alerted officers to a backpack in the back of the car. Inside, they found a loaded .40 mm handgun, extra ammo, a holster, and a spare magazine.
Police said Crump was arrested on several charges, including assault with a firearm, brandishing a gun at another vehicle, and carrying a concealed and loaded firearm in public. He was booked into Sonoma County Jail, while the mother and child were let go at the scene.
