Ride-share driver carjacked by passengers in Greater Grand Crossing
Two people are in custody after they allegedly carjacked their ride-share driver in Greater Grand Crossing, sparking a police chase involving a helicopter and state troopers. When the 47-year-old male driver dropped off the two passengers around 10:40 p.m. in the 7400 block of South Wabash Avenue, they pulled guns and forced the driver out of his car, police said.The suspects drove away in the 2017 Dodge Journey. After a chase that involved state police and a police helicopter, the suspects were taken into custody about three and a half miles south in the 9200 block of South Greenwood Avenue in Burnside, police said.No injuries were reported and Area 1 detectives are investigating.
