In a significant leap towards sustainable land management practices, Aviemore-based Rethink Carbon has unveiled its groundbreaking software platform, the Rethink Platform. Powered by artificial intelligence (AI), this innovative tool is poised to transform global land management strategies, offering comprehensive natural capital reports and unlocking grant funding opportunities for landowners.
Empowering decision-making with AI technology
The Rethink Platform, meticulously crafted by the visionary minds at Rethink Carbon, is designed to empower landowners with data-driven insights crucial for informed decision-making. Mark Caulfield, co-founder and chief executive of Rethink Carbon, emphasized the pivotal role of strategic land use decisions in ensuring landowners’ financial security and combating climate change.
Caulfield commented, “Our platform allows users to easily explore multiple scenarios to assess a wider range of future land use options than ever before, leading to new opportunities and improved outcomes.”
Pioneering trials and testimonials
Early adopters of the Rethink Platform, such as the Tweed Forum, have lauded its efficacy in revolutionizing land management practices. Jamie Buchanan-Jardine, director of Castlemilk and Corrie Estates, hailed the platform as “the most innovative mapping technology currently available to land managers.” He further praised its user-friendly interface, efficiency in data visualization, and time-saving capabilities.
“I used the Rethink Platform extensively for a month,” Buchanan-Jardine remarked, “and, in my opinion, it saves weeks’ worth of work, providing a clear visual representation of data and untangling the Scottish Government website all in one.”
From inception to realization: Rethink carbon’s journey
The inception of Rethink Carbon traces back to 2022, when Caulfield and Zoë Russell founded the company in response to a challenge set by CivTech Scotland. Securing crucial funding support, including £200,000 from South of Scotland Enterprise in 2023, propelled the development of the Rethink Platform.
Further assistance from CENSIS Technology Solutions facilitated the expansion of the Rethink Carbon team to six members, solidifying its position as a trailblazer in AI-driven land management solutions.
With its unparalleled capacity to generate comprehensive natural capital reports and navigate grant funding landscapes, the Rethink Platform is a game-changer in land management. By harnessing the power of AI technology, Rethink Carbon offers a transformative tool that enhances financial viability for landowners and fosters environmental stewardship and resilience against the impacts of climate change.
A bright future ahead
As the global community grapples with the imperative to adopt sustainable practices, the Rethink Platform emerges as a beacon of hope, ushering in a new era of data-driven decision-making in land management. With its user-centric design and cutting-edge capabilities, this innovative solution holds the promise of catalyzing positive change on a global scale, paving the way for a more sustainable and resilient future.
