JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Republican candidates won their election bids for five Missouri state offices, according to preliminary election results from the Secretary of State's website.
The unofficial results show victories for the following Republican candidates...
- Mike Kehoe for Governor
- Dave Wassinger for Lieutenant Governor
- Denny Hoskins for Secretary of State
- Vivek Malek for Treasurer
- Andrew Bailey for Attorney General
Kehoe, after seven years as Missouri Lieutenant Governor under outgoing Gov. Mike Parson, wins his bid to serve as the gubernatorial successor.
During his remarks Tuesday evening, while claiming victory, Kehoe expressed some of his focuses as governor would be supporting law enforcement and tax cuts, while also addressing public education and crime.
Bailey and Malek retain their seats after endorsements from outgoing governor Mike Parson. Both were appointed to their current offices in 2023 to complete unexpiring terms of Eric Schmitt and Scott Fitzpatrick after they won elections for other political offices.
Hoskins and Wassinger are newcomers to Missouri political offices. Hoskins has served in various Missouri House and Senate seats since 2009. Wassinger comes primarily from a background in law and public accounting.
Scott Fitzpatrick holds Missouri's other state office as auditor, which was not up for election this cycle. All six Missouri state offices are projected to be held by Republican candidates.
