Reimagine 787 open house held at Albany Capital Center

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The New York State Department of Transportation hosted an open house on Wednesday to discuss the future of 787. Officials released the findings of a draft planning and environmental study.
The state is considering eight concepts for the road's future, including building a new, elevated highway, creating a ground level boulevard, or turning it into an underground tunnel. While some of the ideas look a lot different from others, they all have the same goal.
"Each concept contains provisions that would help reconnect the city with its waterfront and increase access for pedestrians and cyclists," NYSDOT Commissioner Marie Therese Dominguez said.
The open house was held at the Albany Capital Center.
