A 64-year-old woman jumped from her third-floor window, breaking her leg, to escape her knife-wielding son, police said Saturday.
Cops on Saturday were still looking for the 36-year-old son, who has been arrested more than 30 times, cops said.
Cops were called to the woman’s home on Shore Blvd. near 20th Ave. in Astoria, at about 10:30 p.m., finding the woman sprawled out on the ground, suffering from a broken leg.
They raced to the third-floor apartment, but her son had already disappeared.
EMS rushed the woman to Elmhurst Hospital, where her broken leg was treated.
The woman said that she was arguing with her son when he grabbed a knife and began threatening her with it. She couldn’t get past him, so she had no choice but to jump out the window, she told police.
Investigators were scouring the area for surveillance footage that could help them track down the son.
