(KRON) – San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan announced in a press conference Friday that quarterback Brock Purdy will be out for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.
Purdy injured his right shoulder in last Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Purdy underwent an MRI that showed no structural damage, but the shoulder didn't improve during the week and Purdy was ruled out for the game.
“We're gonna have 48 guys in uniform and I know our guys believe in themselves. I believe in them and we're missing two good players, definitely, but we got a lot of good players out there.” Shanahan continued, “We're gonna go fight our tails off.”
Aside from Purdy, Shanahan also announced Nick Bosa and an extensive list of players who will be out of the next game: Charvarius Ward, Jacob Cowing, Tatum Bethune and Kevin Givins.
Shanahan said the loss of two key players for Sunday's match-up was “disappointing.”
Offensive tackle Trent Williams and offensive line Jon Feliciano are both questionable for Sunday.
Quarterback Brandon Allen is set to take Purdy’s place as the starting QB for the Week 12 big game.
