Poughkeepsie man gets 20 years for narcotic sales
A Dutchess County judge sentenced a Poughkeepsie man to 20 years in prison on Friday for drug-related crimes.
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Dutchess County judge sentenced a Poughkeepsie man to 20 years in prison on Friday for drug-related crimes. The Dutchess County District Attorney's office said Spencer Green, 47, was convicted of 10 felony counts for the sale of narcotics.
In an investigation by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, officials said Green was a dangerous narcotics drug dealer between November and December 2023. During the investigation, Green sold a Drug Task Force member drugs several times, leading up to his arrest.
A Dutchess County jury convicted Green in October on the 10 felony counts. The jury trial conviction is Green's fourth felony drug conviction, and Dutchess County District Attorney Anthony Parisi commended the task force for their work in the case.
"Today's sentence of 20 years in prison reflects the serious nature of the defendant's criminal conduct and its devastating impact on our community," Parisi said. "Drug trafficking fuels addiction, spreads violence, and endangers public safety."
