ST. LOUIS - Homicide detectives were called out to an apartment in south city, where police found two men dead inside Wednesday.
Police believe both men died inside the apartment after being shot near Hydraulic Avenue and Meramec Street. Police received a call around 9 a.m. from a man looking for a friend.
"He had not heard from this individual; he decided to go check on this person. When he got there, he found that man dead, called 911 and let us know," Mitch McCoy with St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said
Police found a second victim inside the apartment, and both men had gunshot wounds.
McCoy said one of the victims lives inside the apartment building. Detectives are now trying to build a timeline of the incident.
"Our homicide detectives are now trying to piece together exactly what happened. Figure out the moments leading up to that gunfire and then ultimately get justice for the victims," McCoy said.
