Police have identified two people who died in south St. Louis County on Tuesday during the day’s flash flooding.
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Police have identified two people who died in south St. Louis County on Tuesday during the day’s flash flooding.
Nancy Parisotto of Affton was found dead inside an SUV in Gravois Creek at Interstate 55 and Bayless Avenue.
A nearby businessowner called the St. Louis County Police Department after noticing the vehicle in the creek. Investigators believe Parisotto drove into the water earlier in the day during peak flooding hours, and her vehicle was not spotted until flood waters had receded.
Parisotto’s death is being investigated as a suspected drowning. She was 63.
Around 2:45 p.m., county police responded to a different incident along the same creek in the 1600 block of Avenue H. Police found a man in the creek who was unresponsive. The man, Kenneth Ludwig of Hillsboro, was pronounced dead at the scene. Ludwig was 41.
An official cause of death for Parisotto and Ludwig won’t be released for another six to eight weeks, according to a county police spokeswoman.
