Pixelverse Raises $5.5 Million to Make Web3 Gaming Fun and Accessible
  • Pixelverse has raised $5.5 million from Delphi Ventures, Merit Circle and others to expand its gaming ecosystem and make Web3 gaming more fun and accessible.
  • The company’s record-setting growth has seen it rack up over 15 million users in its first month and sees over ten million battles waged daily.

Pixelverse, a gaming ecosystem that seeks to be the first to transition 100 million gamers from Web2 to Web3, has raised $5.5 million to make decentralized gaming fun and accessible.

The cyberpunk-themed gaming studio raised funding from top-tier investors in the blockchain space. These include Delphi Ventures, Mechanism Capital, and Bitscale Capital, who are also early investors in some of the crypto industry’s biggest successes. Other participants included Merit Circle, Ghaf Capital, Big Brain Holdings and Foresight Ventures. Sébastien Borget, the founder of The Sandbox, also participated in the funding round.

The funding will support Pixelverse’s rapid growth and expansion into new frontiers. Despite being around for a few weeks, Pixelverse has proven a formidable player in the emerging Tap-to-Earn sector, where users are rewarded for their regular engagement with some of the fun Web3 apps and games. Tap-to-Earn stands at the intersection of GameFi and SocialFi, two sectors that have propelled blockchain technology adoption to new heights.

Pixelverse attracts over ten million daily battles on PixelTap, its Telegram mini-app. The company will use this as the foundation for expanding its browser-based platform to include more mini-games and immersive storytelling. The company has partnered with renowned art directors and developers, and an announcement is expected in the coming weeks.

Pixelverse’s growth has been hailed by industry titans who project that it will be one of the most prominent players in the space. Delphi Digital founding partner Piers Kicks had this to say:

The team has a finger on the pulse of the market, and we’re excited to see what this in conjunction with community feedback brings as they deliver on their ambitious roadmap this year.

He praised the team’s model, which “aggressively leverages Telegram’s distribution to drive a massive audience into their ecosystem.”

Kori Leon, who heads operations at the company, formerly worked with the listing team at Binance, and he says that in time at the world’s largest exchange, he has never come across “such strong adoption metrics in such a short space of time.”

He added:

Pixelverse is truly a game changer for web3 adoption and it’s incredible to see not only the growth in our userbase but also the deep connections and interactions formed within the community. Closing this round will allow us to expand our adoption strategy as we continue on our journey to become a leading gaming and entertainment hub not only in the web3 space but globally
