Patriots add Kyle Dugger to injury report, elevate linebacker
Add another ailment to the Patriots' lengthy injury report.
The Patriots added safety Kyle Dugger back to the injury report Saturday with an ankle ailment.
The veteran starter is now questionable to play Sunday against the Jets.
The Patriots also elevated linebacker Ochaun Mathis from the practice squad for the second straight week.
Mathis, who was selected in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Nebraska by the Rams, played one defensive snap and 22 reps on special teams last week in London against the Jaguars.
If Dugger can’t play, then veteran Jaylinn Hawkins would likely step up as a starter alongside Marte Mapu, while undrafted rookie Dell Pettus would take on a bigger role in the defense.
The Patriots ruled out rookies wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk and guard Layden Robinson on Friday. Dugger, DT Daniel Ekuale (abdomen), CB Jonathan Jones (shoulder/personal), G Michael Jordan (ankle), T Vederian Lowe (ankle), LB Raekwon McMillan (back), OL Sidy Sow (illness), LB Sione Takitaki (knee), DE Keion White (ankle) are questionable.
