'National French Toast Alert System' says St. Louis is due for more French toast

ST. LOUIS -- As St. Louis prepares for yet another snow system late Thursday into Friday morning, the "National French Toast Alert System" says it's time to run to the store to purchase milk, bread, and eggs.
According to the website, after entering the St. Louis zipcode, even just the colder temperature calls for a run to the store to buy the ingredients for French toast.
"Looks like it might be time to run to the store for some milk, bread, and eggs!" the website says.
The creator of the "alert system," Shawn C. Reed, shared his reasonings for creating the website.
"I created this site as a joke to poke fun at the fact that, every time the weather gets cold (especially in certain parts of the country), stores seem to quickly run out of milk, bread, and eggs... which happen to be the ingredients for making french toast," Reed wrote on the website.
While Friday's snow system is not expected to leave a significant impact compared to Sunday and Monday's storm, it will impact the morning commute on Friday with light snow. Between one and two inches of snow is expected in the St. Louis metropolitan area, while further south will see between four and six inches.
