Music producer Metro Boomin accused of rape, sex assault

Music producer Metro Boomin has been accused in a civil suit of raping and sexually assaulting a woman.

The lawsuit filed Tuesday says the musician, whose real name is Leland Tyler Wayne, 31, raped a woman while she was unconscious in a Los Angeles hotel room in September 2016, USA Today reported. The producer denied the allegations in a statement from his lawyer.

“These are false accusations. Mr. Wayne refused to pay her months ago, and he refuses to pay her now,” attorney Lawrence Hinkle II told People magazine. “Mr. Wayne will defend himself in court.”

Vanessa LeMaistre, 38, said she met Metro earlier in 2016, and the two became friends, according to Variety. She said they were hanging out at a music studio in September when she took half a Xanax bar and drank a shot of alcohol.

According to LeMaistre’s lawsuit, obtained by USA Today, she lost consciousness and the next thing she remembered was Metro raping her on a hotel bed. LeMaistre said she went in and out of consciousness during the alleged assault.

After the incident, LeMaistre said she was led to a SUV, which took her to the recording studio where she had parked her car, the lawsuit says. Several weeks later, LeMaistre realized she was pregnant from the assault and sought an abortion according to the court docs.

The lawsuit also mentions a 2017 song, “Rap Saved Me,” which Metro produced and wrote with 21 Savage, Quavo and Offset, Variety reported. The song’s lyrics include “She took a Xanny, then she fainted” and “She drive me crazy, have my baby,” which the lawsuit claims are references to the attack on LeMaistre.

Beginning in the mid-2010s, Metro Boomin became one of the most influential rap producers, working with Migos, Future, Travis Scott and Gucci Mane, among many others. He went viral earlier this year for his “BBL Drizzy” diss track beat in response to the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
