MoDOT to hold public hearings on Major I-70 Improvement Project
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is inviting the public to provide feedback on the Improve I-70: Warrenton to Wentzville project, which includes the addition of a third lane in each direction, interchange improvements, and outer road upgrades, with construction expected to begin this spring and wrap up by late 2028.

ST. LOUIS - The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is inviting the public to weigh in on its Improve I-70: Warrenton to Wentzville project, with two public hearings scheduled this week.
The meetings aim to keep residents and commuters informed about the planned upgrades to this heavily traveled stretch of Interstate 70.
People in attendance will get a first look at design plans, construction phases and project timelines.
- The first hearing takes place Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Warrenton High School.
- The second hearing is set for Thursday, Feb. 6 at the Progress Park Recreation Center in Wentzville.
This is MoDOT’s second project under the statewide Improve I-70 program and includes:
- Adding a third lane in each direction
- Interchange improvements
- Outer road upgrades
According to MoDOT, the project is backed by funding from Improve I-70, additional General Revenue funding and previously allocated state funding for I-70 and I-64 improvements, bringing the total contract cost to $600 million.
This work is part of a much larger $14.6 billion, five-year infrastructure plan, the largest in MoDOT history.
For those unable to attend in person, MoDOT is accepting public feedback online through March 6. Full project details and the feedback form can be found at MoDOT.org/ImproveI70/Warrenton-Wentzville.
Construction is expected to begin this spring and wrap up by late 2028.
