CLAY COUNTY, Mo. - A driver caught speeding at 107 miles per hour in Missouri was playing video games while he was behind the wheel, authorities say.
The driver was pulled over on Interstate 35 in Clay County, Missouri, on Dec. 27, 2024, according to the Claycomo Police Department.
Investigators say the driver was playing a video game on an undisclosed device while his vehicle surpassed 100 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone. The driver also had a suspended license.
Police say the driver was distracted and didn't see an officer in a nearby lane.
Claycomo police say a court date and charges are pending.
It's worth noting this incident took place just before a new provision in Missouri's hands-free law, which allows law enforcement to issue fines for violations like texting while driving.
