Mild but still mostly cloudy Saturday, rain returns Saturday evening

Gloomy and at times wet weather continues for a few more days. Patchy fog has developed in some areas Saturday morning. While cloud cover continues Saturday, we will see a break from rain chances and temperatures will be a bit milder than Friday, in the upper 50s to near 60.

Our next wave of energy approaches from the southwest later Saturday and rain will spread into southeast Missouri and southern Illinois through the evening. Light rain continues northward into tonight and lasts through at least early Sunday morning, tapering off from west to east.

After another break in the rain from late morning on Sunday through much of the afternoon, a few more showers may develop late afternoon and evening. Mostly cloudy and the mid 50s for afternoon highs. Mild temperatures and a few more chances of rain will be with us through Tuesday. Colder air returns to the region Tuesday night into New Year's Day.
