An Angeleno is behind bars after he allegedly stabbed a gas station clerk and injured a police officer during a robbery and escape attempt in Chino Wednesday evening.
Delbert Killebrew Jr. 28, allegedly robbed a Chevron gas station at 12110 Central Ave. at about 5:15 p.m, during which he slashed and stabbed the clerk, the Chino Police Department said in a news release.
That clerk, only described as a woman, suffered stab wounds and lacerations. She was taken to a local hospital, where she is in stable condition.
Officers chased Killebrew on foot and eventually took him into custody, though he struggled with officers and injured one, sending him to the hospital as well, police said.
Killebrew faces charges of attempted murder, robbery and assault on a police officer.
He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $1 million bail, and he's due to appear in Rancho Superior Court on Friday.
