Man robbed at gunpoint in Downtown West
St. Louis police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Sunday evening in the city’s Downtown West neighborhood.
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Sunday evening in the city’s Downtown West neighborhood.
According to a spokesperson with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the robbery happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection of St. Charles and North 13th streets.
The victim, a 34-year-old man, told police he was sitting in his car and smoking when an unidentified man asked the victim for a smoke and then requested money.
When the victim refused, the unknown man took out a gun, got in the passenger side of the car, and announced a robbery.
The 34-year-old said he handed the armed suspect money and a backpack.
Police said the 34-year-old noticed a second man standing nearby to act as a lookout. After the robbery, the two suspects got into a white Cadillac Escalade and drove off.
The victim was uninjured during the robbery.
