A man has barricaded himself inside a home in Malibu after he allegedly fired at Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies Friday afternoon.
The deputies were responding for an earlier report of several gunshots heard on the 22000 block of Carbon Mesa Road around 1:50 p.m.
According to an LASD spokesperson, the suspect opened fire on the deputies and then barricaded himself inside the home.
The deputies were uninjured, officials said.
A Sheriff's Department SWAT team was called to the scene to assist with the ongoing law enforcement operation.
Video from Sky5 showed a large police presence staging along Carbon Mesa Road, which was closed off to traffic.
Residents in the neighborhood were being urged to stay indoors with windows and doors locked while law enforcement tried to bring the incident to a peaceful conclusion.
